New Delhi, May 9: The Saket Court has ordered the police custody of Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, the chairman of Al-Falah University located in Faridabad, Haryana, for three days. The Delhi Police had requested this remand for Siddiqui, who was arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police. Previously, he had been in judicial custody related to a money laundering case.
Siddiqui’s bail plea in the money laundering case has been rejected twice by the Saket Court. After his police custody ended, he was presented before ASJ Sheetal Chaudhary on May 1. The investigating agency stated that the inquiry against Siddiqui is ongoing, and he was sent to judicial custody to facilitate evidence collection.
Siddiqui was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) from Tihar Jail on March 24. This marks the second money laundering case against him. The action is part of an investigation into money laundering linked to the Al-Falah Charitable Trust, Al-Falah University, and associated entities. The Al-Falah Group is also under investigation concerning a blast that occurred near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10, 2025.
According to the ED, a chargesheet against Siddiqui was filed on January 17. Investigations have revealed that fraudulent documents were used to illegally acquire land. The ED alleges that Siddiqui, along with others, prepared fake documents to unlawfully obtain land identified as Khasra number 792 in Madanpur Khadar village, South-East Delhi. This land spans approximately 1.146 acres and is valued at around ₹45 crore. The documents falsely state the land’s value at ₹75 lakh, suggesting that the actual transaction amount could be significantly higher. Investigative agencies are now working to trace the financial transactions and identify other individuals and properties involved in this case.
