Court Grants Bail to Shalu Meenocha in Vinay Meenocha Murder Case

Shalu Meenocha receives bail as court finds no credible evidence linking her to the murder of Vinay Meenocha.

Kanpur, September 28 (Daily Kiran) : Shalu Meenocha has been granted bail in the high-profile murder case of Kanpur businessman Vinay Meenocha. On September 28, a court ordered her release from judicial custody, setting a personal bond of ₹50,000.

The court stated that there was no independent or credible evidence to suggest Shalu’s involvement in the conspiracy to murder. Consequently, the judge directed her immediate release unless she is wanted in any other case. However, she is required to appear whenever summoned by the court or the investigating officer.

The case revolves around the murder of Vinay Meenocha, who was stabbed to death on September 5. Initial police investigations indicated that the plot to kill him was orchestrated not by his daughter-in-law Shalu, but by his son, Subrat Meenocha.

Police reports revealed that Vinay suffered 17 stab wounds, and images of the alleged attackers were captured on nearby CCTV cameras. The investigation led to the questioning of Shalu, along with other suspects, including Vishal and Rajkishore. Following this, Subrat was arrested after his name emerged during the inquiry.

Authorities claimed that Subrat was motivated by fears that his father might remarry and was also upset about his father’s private life. Additionally, police alleged that Subrat was in debt to the tune of ₹40 lakh and had arranged a contract for the murder, paying ₹2 lakh in advance to the assailants.

With the court’s recent decision, Shalu Meenocha has received significant relief, as the lack of credible evidence against her has resulted in her release from custody.
