Cop injured in Chhattisgarh encounter

Bijapur (Chhattisgarh), Apr 19 : A head constable of the CRPF’s 210th Commando Battalion for Resolute Action sustained a bullet injury to a leg on Tuesday afternoon during an encounter, in the area between Kottaguda and Pegdapalli within Basaguda Police Station limits, in which numerous Naxals are also reported to have been eliminated or wounded. “A search party comprising District Reserve Guard, Chhattisgarh Armed Force and CRPF personnel started out for Kottaguda from Pegdapalli camp. Following the exchange of fire, the rebels fled. A grenade launcher, explosives, many DGL cells and items of daily use were seized. Head Const Sanju Kumar has been admitted at the Field Hospital,” IG (Bastar Range) Sundarraj Pattilingam confirmed. XC-AC
