Ayodhya, July 20: Amid ongoing discussions in Parliament and the Supreme Court regarding alleged irregularities in donations for the Ram Temple, Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya, the head of the Tapasvi Ashram in Ayodhya, has reiterated the need for an impartial investigation. He stated that if the opposition has raised concerns, the Prime Minister should consider them seriously. He emphasized that strict action should be taken against the guilty, but innocent individuals should not be targeted due to personal motives or malice.
Reacting to the opposition’s claims of misappropriation of Ram Temple funds, Acharya remarked, “Actions are already underway in this matter. If the opposition demands an independent investigation, the central government should also take it into account. However, the party that previously questioned the existence of Lord Ram should address its past stance before commenting on matters related to the Ram Temple. If an investigation is being requested, I also urge the Prime Minister to seriously consider it.”
Highlighting the significance of the upcoming meeting of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on July 22, Acharya stated, “The entire nation is watching this meeting. It is essential to ensure that no guilty party escapes justice, but attempts to frame innocent individuals due to personal enmity, differences, or other reasons must also be avoided. Those against whom allegations are not proven should be given the opportunity to fulfill their responsibilities with dignity, while action should be taken against those found guilty according to the law.”
During this time, Acharya commented on social activist Sonam Wangchuk’s recent statements, saying, “He is a respected academic and social worker. Had he merely expressed his concerns in a letter to the Prime Minister, the government would certainly have considered them. However, during Wangchuk’s protests, some individuals raised anti-national slogans, insulted Lord Ram and Mata Sita, made offensive remarks against RSS members, and spoke of dividing the nation. Such elements should not have a place in any movement, which should remain focused on the core issues.”
Acharya also expressed support for the Vande Mataram Bill, stating, “For any Indian who loves their country, such legislation is a matter of joy. Every step that strengthens the spirit of patriotism should be welcomed.”
Regarding the ongoing Supreme Court hearings related to the Ram Temple, Mahant Dharm Das Maharaj of Hanumangarhi commented, “Any party that approaches the court does so with the hope of justice. Since the matter is under the Supreme Court’s consideration, it would not be appropriate to comment on the judicial process. The Supreme Court will deliver a fair judgment. If I feel that justice has not been served on all fronts, I too will approach the Supreme Court. Issues concerning the management of the Ram Janmabhoomi and the role of the saint community in Ayodhya will also be brought before the court if necessary.”
