Chandigarh, August 4: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated on Tuesday that the Congress party has consistently engaged in vote-bank politics, using the poor, backward classes, and Scheduled Castes solely for political advantage.
Referring to former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Saini remarked that a leader who stood firmly with Punjab Congress during tough times is now being sidelined by his own party. He expressed that Congress has disrespected Dalits and other marginalized communities, calling it unfortunate.
In response to a question about the NEET paper leak case, Saini asserted that the central government has taken decisive action, while Congress and the ‘India’ bloc have attempted to mislead the youth on this issue.
He emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dedicated his entire life to the welfare of every section of society, consistently working for the nation’s service, with the future of the youth being a top priority.
Saini mentioned that the central government has enacted stringent laws to address paper leak cases, ensuring strict action against the guilty and making the recruitment process completely transparent.
He stated, “No one has the right to play with the hopes and future of the youth. PM Modi has taken this issue very seriously and made it clear that anyone attempting to jeopardize the future of the nation’s youth will not be spared.”
The Chief Minister noted that today’s generation has not witnessed the conditions during the Congress government. He said, “There was a lack of transparency in recruitment processes, and candidates often had to travel on the roofs of buses to take exams. Even when question papers were leaked, accountability was rarely established, and young candidates bore the consequences.”
Saini criticized Congress for neglecting the future of the youth for years due to vote-bank politics. He asserted that the public has now understood the politics of Congress and the ‘India’ bloc and will no longer be misled.
When questioned about a resolution passed by the Punjab Assembly condemning paper leaks, Saini asked if the Punjab government had adopted a similar resolution regarding the recent pharmacy exam paper leak in the state.
Referring to the recently announced recruitment exam results in Punjab, CM Saini pointed out that the names of several successful candidates have raised serious questions and highlighted the concerns of the state’s youth regarding the fairness of the recruitment process. He urged Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to provide answers to the youth on issues related to recruitment exams.
Recalling an old statement by AAP leader Manish Sisodia, who said that if a paper leak occurred in the state, Punjab’s Education Minister (Harjot Singh Bains) would resign, Saini remarked that the party’s silence on recent events clearly exposes the discrepancy between their words and actions.
