Congress Accuses Government of Hindering Participation in Delhi Chalo March
Congress leaders claim the government is obstructing supporters from attending the November 1 rally in Delhi, intensifying political tensions.

New Delhi, October 29 (Daily Kiran) : Ahead of the ‘Vote Bachao Maha Rally’ and the ‘Delhi Chalo March’ set for November 1 at Ram Leela Maidan, Congress has leveled serious allegations against the central government. Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal claimed that party workers from various regions are being prevented from reaching Delhi to participate in the rally. This assertion has garnered support from other party leaders.
Rajya Sabha MP J.B. Mathur stated that the party is receiving reports of such incidents. He remarked, “There is a system for information exchange within the Congress party. We have received information that many people coming from different parts of the country are being stopped. However, we want to assert confidently that while they may try to hinder us, people from every corner of India will reach Delhi, no matter what they do.”
Congress spokesperson Udit Raj echoed Venugopal’s accusations, criticizing the BJP government. He stated, “They arrange special trains for themselves when they have events. During social functions or major gatherings, additional coaches are indeed attached, but this time they are not allowing even that.”
Raj further claimed that the government is fearful of Rahul Gandhi and is making every effort to ensure that the rally at Ram Leela Maidan does not take place on November 1.
Venugopal had previously noted that Congress MPs, MLAs, workers, and supporters from states like Telangana are facing attempts by the central government and Indian Railways to block their travel to Delhi. He alleged that Indian Railways has denied requests for special trains from Telangana to Delhi. In protest, Telangana Congress leaders demonstrated outside the South Central Railway office in Secunderabad.
Tensions are rising as the November rally approaches, with Congress vowing to mobilize despite government efforts to limit participation.
