Bhagalpur, May 9: Under the guidance of District Magistrate Dr. Naval Kishore Chaudhary, a community kitchen has been inaugurated at Barari Ghat to assist travelers commuting between Bhagalpur and Naugachia. The initiative offers a full meal for just 50 rupees.
The government has also arranged free boat services for passengers. Additionally, two large boats are available at no cost for transporting agricultural products such as vegetables, bananas, and milk.
To facilitate farmers and traders, boat services are scheduled at various times, including 5:00 AM and 5:30 AM. This allows farmers to safely transport their fruits, vegetables, and milk to the Bhagalpur market.
The District Magistrate has confirmed that two boats are also operating free of charge to send goods from Barari Ghat to the Naugachia market.
Several cruise operators have been granted permission to operate, with a fare of 50 rupees per person and 25 rupees for children under 12 years.
Rates have also been set for bikes, bicycles, and other vehicles. To ensure passenger comfort, facilities such as ambulances, drinking water, toilets, a control room, and adequate lighting have been established at the ghats.
For safety reasons, boat operations will cease after 5:00 PM. This measure is in place to prevent complications during rescue operations in case of technical issues with the boats. Emergency relief efforts can be conducted more effectively before sunset, ensuring that passengers can be safely transported to secure locations.
