
New Delhi, April 27: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a review meeting at the Uttarakhand Niwas in New Delhi with Jayant Singh, Chairman of the Land Ports Authority of India, and other senior officials.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister inquired about the progress of the modern land port project under construction in the Banbasa (Gudmi) area of Champawat district, located along the India-Nepal border. This project is viewed as a significant step towards enhancing international connectivity by linking it with the Asian Highway.
Additionally, CM Dhami discussed various topics related to border trade, movement, and infrastructure strengthening in the border areas of Pithoragarh district, specifically in Dharchula and Jhoolaghat.
He emphasized that development activities should prioritize local needs and public interests, which will promote local products and strengthen the regional economy. This approach will provide better market access for products from border areas, further bolstering the local economy and creating job opportunities at the grassroots level.
The Chief Minister instructed the Land Ports Authority of India to complete ongoing works in border areas in a timely and organized manner for the convenience of local residents.
During this time, CM Dhami also shared a post on the social media platform X, detailing the discussions held with senior officials of the Land Ports Authority of India regarding border trade, movement, and infrastructure strengthening in the state’s border areas.
He reiterated that development activities are being advanced with a focus on local needs and public interest, which will enhance local products and strengthen the regional economy. The meeting also covered the progress of the modern land port project under construction along the India-Nepal border.
CM Dhami directed the Land Ports Authority of India to ensure that ongoing works in border areas are completed in a timely and organized manner for the benefit of local residents.
