Chinas Renewable Energy Capacity Reaches 2.4 Billion Kilowatts

Beijing, April 27: China’s renewable energy sector is experiencing significant growth, according to a relevant official from the National Energy Administration. The establishment of energy capacity and power generation is steadily increasing, while the supply of green power continues to strengthen.

In the first quarter, the newly installed renewable energy capacity across China reached 58.93 million kilowatts, accounting for 70 percent of the total energy installation.

Fan Huimin, deputy director of the New Energy Department at the National Energy Administration, stated that the continuous increase in renewable energy capacity is promoting the ongoing optimization of the energy structure.

By the end of March, the total installed capacity of renewable energy was approximately 2.4 billion kilowatts, representing over 60 percent of the total. Among this, the combined installed capacity of wind and solar energy was around 1.9 billion kilowatts, making up nearly half of the total.
