Beijing, May 17: The Chinese Ministry of Public Security announced on Sunday that police forces from China, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have conducted their first international law enforcement cooperation operation. This initiative targeted telecommunications and online fraud in Dubai.
During the operation, authorities dismantled nine fraud dens and arrested 276 suspects. Investigations revealed that the fraudsters built romantic relationships with victims through social media platforms, gaining their trust before luring them into investing in so-called high-yield cryptocurrency projects, ultimately leading to their financial loss.
A relevant official from the Ministry of Public Security stated that this joint operation marks a significant achievement in international law enforcement collaboration for Chinese police. They aim to deepen practical cooperation with more countries to eliminate telecommunications fraud dens and apprehend suspects involved in such crimes, effectively safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of people across all nations.
