Beijing, June 6: Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of Laos, stated in an interview with China Media Group (CMG) that the China-Laos Railway has significantly contributed to the national development of Laos.
He emphasized that this railway has completely transformed Laos and fulfilled the dreams of its people.
Recalling the inauguration ceremony of the China-Laos Railway held on December 3, 2021, President Thongloun noted, “On that day, Chinese President Xi Jinping remarked that mountains are no longer so high, and roads are no longer so long.”
According to Thongloun, this railway has emerged as the “golden railway” of the Lao people’s dreams.
He pointed out that although Laos is a landlocked country, it now has a railway that connects it to the sea. Previously, Laos lacked any railway infrastructure, but now it boasts a modern high-speed railway. This development has instilled a sense of pride among the Lao people.
