Beijing, May 21: China and Russia have jointly released a statement advocating for multipolarity and a new type of international relations. This statement outlines a four-point proposal aimed at advancing a balanced and orderly multipolar world. It addresses one of the most pressing questions of our time: “In which direction are international relations heading?”
Data from a series of global surveys released by CGTN indicates that principles such as mutual respect, fairness, justice, and mutually beneficial cooperation have gained widespread international consensus. Respondents expressed opposition to dividing the world into confrontational regions and factions, emphasizing the need for a more united international community. This community should respect each other’s fundamental interests, treat one another equally, and pursue cooperative efforts that benefit all.
Firstly, openness and inclusivity form the essential backdrop of contemporary international relations. Secondly, indivisible security is the fundamental guarantee of global peace. Thirdly, democracy in international relations is a core element of global governance. Lastly, the diversity of civilizations and values is an invaluable heritage of human society.
