Children represent 7.3 % of all COVID-19 cases in U.S

The statistics were posted based on data from Aug 3, showing that the number and rate of infections among children in the United States saw a steady increase from March to July.

However, schools and universities across the country are beginning to reopen, despite health concerns.

As of 19:31 local time (00:11 GMT on Sunday), the U.S. had registered over 5.35 million cases of COVID-19 with 169,423 deaths, according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

By far, the United States remains the worst-hit nation globally, with the highest caseload and death toll.
