Uttar Pradesh Election Commission Denies Claims of Voter Name Removals
The Uttar Pradesh Election Commission refutes claims of arbitrary voter removals during the special revision process, urging trust in official sources.

Lucknow, October 13 (Daily Kiran) : The Uttar Pradesh Election Commission has addressed concerns regarding the removal of voter names during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. Officials have labeled claims that 85,854 Form-7 applications were automatically generated to remove names without cause as misleading.
In a statement posted on X, the commission clarified, “The assertion that 85,854 Form-7 applications were created without justification is false. Actions were taken following due process, which includes notices, hearings, investigations, and orders. Decisions on pending cases after March 6 were also made according to regulations. Please rely on official sources for accurate information.”
The commission emphasized that resolutions for cases pending after March 6 were handled appropriately. They urged the public to trust verified information from official channels.
Akhilesh Yadav, the national president of the Samajwadi Party, has criticized the Election Commission’s conduct, claiming it is biased and questioning the SIR process. He stated that the SIR initiative has been rendered ineffective, with a new campaign to register voters now underway. Yadav highlighted the significant investment and administrative resources allocated to this process, which he feels have been wasted.
He alleged that numerous fraudulent votes have been registered, with instances of individuals having multiple votes across various constituencies. Yadav called on the Election Commission to demonstrate its credibility and operate impartially.
