Patna, April 5: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated and laid the foundation for various development projects in Valmikinagar, West Champaran, on Sunday. He also inspected several ongoing development works and provided necessary directives to officials.
During his visit, CM Kumar reviewed the restoration work of the Don Nahar branch service road. Officials informed him that approximately 80% of the restoration work is complete. The road along the embankment of the canal has been paved.
He instructed the officials to expedite the completion of the project, emphasizing its importance for irrigation. This canal will significantly benefit numerous farmers. The government is consistently working in the interest of farmers.
The Chief Minister also assessed the construction of the Lav-Kush Eco Tourism Park located in front of the Gandak dam reservoir and inquired about the facilities being provided there. Through a site plan, officials briefed him on the various components being developed at the Lav-Kush Eco Tourism Park. He also toured the guest house of the Water Resources Department and the Valmikinagar Eco Park. Additionally, he visited the Gandak barrage to assess the current situation.
From the Valmiki Sabhagar complex, CM Kumar unveiled the plaque for the Eco Tourism Center Valmikinagar and the Valmiki Tiger Reserve. He also inaugurated the Vulture Conservation Center in Gonouli and Chhuitahan.
Following this, the Chief Minister flagged off jungle safari vehicles, stating that this initiative would greatly facilitate tourists exploring the forest. Valmikinagar is being developed as an eco-tourism destination, with the government implementing several developmental projects to promote tourism.
The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary.
