
Bhopal, March 24: Bina Singh, the Assistant Inspector General of the Women’s Safety Branch in Madhya Pradesh, stated that societal attitudes towards women are rapidly evolving. The 28th foundation day of the Madhya Pradesh State Women’s Commission was celebrated on Tuesday.
The Madhya Pradesh State Women’s Commission was established by the state government on March 23, 1998. This occasion sparked extensive discussions on women’s empowerment, gender equality, and safety issues.
AIG Bina Singh emphasized that the perspective towards women in society is changing significantly. The representation of women is increasing across various departments, and they are making their mark in every field. She noted that true respect for women will be established when derogatory remarks against them cease.
Commission Secretary Suresh Tomar highlighted issues such as gender discrimination, patriarchal social structures, and domestic violence. The Madhya Pradesh State Women’s Commission is actively working with the National Women’s Commission and other organizations to protect women’s rights and promote empowerment.
The event was attended by Joint Director of Women and Child Development Naki Jahan Qureshi, experts Bhavna Tripathi and Shikha Chhibber, representatives from various social organizations, children from Jawahar Bal Bhavan, and officials from the commission. Special recognition was given to men who are actively working towards gender equality in society.
Among those honored were Sonu Solanki from Uday Social Organization, Vijay Yadav from Arambh Organization, Rohit Bediya, and Jitendra Rajaram for their significant contributions to gender equality, awareness against domestic violence, availability of sanitary napkins, and the upliftment of women from the Bedia community.
Speakers at the event emphasized the need for collective efforts to safeguard women’s rights and strengthen the spirit of equality in society.
