CGTN Survey Highlights Chinas Financial Liberalization Efforts Amid Global Challenges

A recent CGTN survey reveals strong support for Chinas financial reforms despite global economic tensions.

Beijing, October 19 (Daily Kiran) : The annual Financial Street Forum commenced on schedule in Beijing on October 19, 2026, despite rising trade tensions and disruptions in global supply chains. A survey conducted by CGTN among global internet users revealed that 82.98 percent of respondents believe that continuing to host the forum demonstrates China’s commitment to deepening its financial reforms and liberalization, as well as strengthening international financial exchanges and cooperation.

This initiative also highlights China’s efforts to address a major dilemma in global economic governance: how to balance security and efficiency. This year’s forum, themed “Openness, Cooperation, and Inclusiveness: Building a New Global Financial Ecosystem,” attracted over 400 participants from more than 40 countries and regions.

According to the survey, approximately 85.25 percent of respondents feel that the forum serves as a vital platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas on financial development, build consensus, and enhance international financial cooperation. Key discussions included topics such as “Economic Governance in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” and “AI-Driven Digital Transformation of Capital Markets.” The forum showcased the latest advancements in the application of artificial intelligence, quantum technology, and other digital innovations in the financial sector.

In this context, 74.83 percent of respondents believe that the deep integration of finance and digital technologies can improve economic efficiency and enhance the quality of financial services. Meanwhile, 80.86 percent view artificial intelligence as a key factor reshaping the financial industry.

The survey was conducted as an open online poll across CGTN’s English, Spanish, French, Arabic, and Russian platforms, with 3,630 participants sharing their insights within 24 hours.
