New Delhi, April 1: Hanuman Jayanti is a significant festival in Sanatan Dharma, celebrated annually on the full moon day of the Chaitra month. This year, the festival will be observed with great enthusiasm across the country on Thursday. Many Hanuman temples will witness large crowds of devotees, who will participate in special prayers, recitations of Hanuman Chalisa, and Sundarkand.
One of the most renowned Hanuman temples is the nearly 400-year-old Siddhpeeth Manokamanapurn Shri Hanuman Ji temple, located in Baripur, Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh. This temple serves not only as a spiritual center for devotees but also holds immense historical significance.
It is believed that merely visiting this temple fulfills all the wishes of the devotees. Tuesdays and Saturdays see a significant influx of visitors, while the atmosphere during Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti is truly extraordinary, with a continuous stream of devotees seeking blessings throughout the day.
A 400-year-old banyan tree still stands at this sacred site, adding to its charm. Locals recount that the temple was initially established in a small hut, but it has now transformed into a grand structure that attracts thousands of devotees and tourists year-round.
Inside the temple, there is a divine idol of Hanuman Ji facing south, which brings immense peace to those who gaze upon it. Grand aartis are held every Tuesday and Saturday evening, accompanied by large community feasts nearby.
