CBSE Class 10 Results Announced: Over 2.21 Lakh Students Score Above 90 Percent

New Delhi, April 15: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the Class 10 results for 2026. A total of 55,368 students achieved scores of 95 percent or higher, which accounts for approximately 2.24 percent of the candidates. Notably, 221,574 students scored 90 percent or above, representing about 8.96 percent of all successful candidates.

These statistics highlight the impressive performance of nearly 300,000 students in the high-scoring category, underscoring the strong academic capabilities of the top achievers.

On Wednesday, the CBSE released the Class 10 board results for 2026. This year, a total of 2,483,479 students registered for the exams, with 2,471,777 actually participating. Out of these, 2,316,008 students were declared successful. The overall pass percentage for this year stands at 93.70 percent, a slight increase from last year’s 93.66 percent, indicating a growth of 0.04 percent and reflecting stable and positive performance.

The results also reveal commendable achievements among students with special needs. In 2026, 452 students from this category scored 90 percent or more, while 91 students achieved scores exceeding 95 percent. This demonstrates the positive impact of inclusive education efforts, as these students are excelling alongside their peers.

The detailed statistics accompanying the Class 10 results for 2026 showcase the high performance levels and overall academic standards. A significant number of students have excelled, showcasing their potential. Meanwhile, some students have been given the opportunity to improve their scores.

This year, a total of 147,172 students have been placed in the compartment category, which is about 5.95 percent of all examinees. This percentage remains consistent with last year’s figures, indicating stability in performance. In 2025, the number of compartment students was 141,353.

Experts suggest that the large number of students scoring above 90 percent reflects both the quality of education and the hard work of the students. For those placed in the compartment category, the second examination system offers a crucial opportunity to enhance their performance.
