Chandigarh, August 20: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an Assistant Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) stationed in Panipat, Haryana, in connection with a bribery case.
On Wednesday, the agency released a press statement detailing the charges against the accused. It is alleged that the Assistant DGFT solicited a bribe of ₹30,000 from a complainant to address deficiencies in an Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) authorization file and to expedite its processing.
