Sagar, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : In Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, the local administration has intensified its crackdown on individuals involved in a toxic liquor scandal. On September 10, authorities demolished five illegal structures linked to three accused individuals in the case.
The action followed a visit by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who instructed officials to take strict measures against the perpetrators. Consequently, a joint team from the Bunda Municipal Council and local police executed the demolitions, which included three structures belonging to Manish Lodhi, one from Chandra Bhan Rajput, and another from Ashish Sahu.
The demolition targeted unauthorized buildings, including homes and warehouses, constructed on government land. The operation was supported by a heavy police presence, along with officials such as the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and the Tehsildar.
According to the administration, the main accused—Manish Lodhi, Chandra Bhan Rajput, and Ashish Sahu—had long been occupying government land for illegal construction. These properties were reportedly used to facilitate the illicit liquor trade.
Prior to the demolition, the accused were served notices 24 hours in advance, requesting clarification regarding their encroachments. However, they failed to respond within the stipulated time, prompting the authorities to proceed with the demolition as per regulations.
District officials have made it clear that they will continue to take stringent actions against illegal liquor operations, land encroachment, and organized crime in the area.
