Mumbai, October 14 (Daily Kiran): Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has partnered with ACES India, a telecom infrastructure and connectivity solutions provider, to bring in-building 4G and 5G connectivity to the Mumbai Metro Aqua Line-3. The initiative aims to ensure seamless mobile coverage and a high-quality network experience for commuters along the metro’s underground corridor.

The Aqua Line-3, operational since October 2024, connects Aarey to Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), spanning 33.5 kilometers with 27 stations and multiple tunnel networks. BSNL and ACES India will deploy advanced in-building solutions (IBS) throughout the corridor, addressing common connectivity challenges in underground transport systems.
Harinder Kumar Makkar, Chief General Manager of BSNL Maharashtra Telecom Circle, said, “The Aqua Line-3 IBS rollout will set new standards for underground connectivity and public service delivery.”
Mohammed N. Mazher, Managing Director of ACES India, added, “As a fully owned subsidiary of ACES (Saudi Arabia), we bring global expertise and local execution strength to transform how connectivity integrates with urban mobility.”
The partnership combines BSNL’s extensive telecom infrastructure with ACES India’s global technical capabilities to enhance passenger experience in one of India’s busiest metro networks.
While BSNL and ACES will manage the internal 4G/5G deployment, private telecom operators will also continue offering their own mobile network services to users across the metro line.
