Bombay High Court Orders CBI Investigation into Disha Salians Death Case

Mumbai, September 2: The case surrounding the death of Disha Salian, the former manager of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has gained renewed attention. The Bombay High Court has made a significant ruling by ordering the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take over the investigation. The court has directed that an FIR be registered and the investigation commence. Additionally, Disha’s father, Satish Salian, is to have his statement recorded.

Satish Salian filed a petition in the Bombay High Court requesting a fresh investigation into his daughter’s death. He demanded that an FIR be registered and that the case be handed over to the CBI. He alleged that Disha’s death was not a simple incident and that the previous investigation left many questions unanswered. In response to this petition, the High Court has now instructed the CBI to conduct the investigation.

Advocate Nilesh Ojha spoke to the media, stating, “According to the court’s order, the CBI will now register an FIR and advance the investigation. A senior officer will be appointed for this purpose. Disha’s father’s statement will also be recorded. Furthermore, records related to the previous investigation will be handed over to the CBI so that the agency can investigate the case from the beginning.”

He added, “The court has made it clear that any evidence found against anyone should lead to action. Also, no individual should be accused without evidence. If the CBI files a closure report, we will have the right to object and file a protest petition. We firmly believe that the truth will prevail.”

Meanwhile, Satish Salian expressed his feelings to the media, saying, “I have been waiting for this decision for six years. I have lost my daughter. I trust that the CBI will conduct a thorough investigation. Upon receiving the order for the CBI investigation, I also thanked the court judge.”

To recap, Disha Salian died on June 8, 2020, after falling from a building in the Malad area of Mumbai. At the time, she was 28 years old and worked as a celebrity manager, having previously managed Sushant Singh Rajput. Just days after her death, on June 14, 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput was also found dead at his home in Mumbai. The close timing of the two incidents raised numerous questions regarding Disha’s death.

Initially, the Mumbai police registered her death as an Accidental Death Report (ADR). Later investigations classified it as a suicide, with the police stating that no evidence of foul play or sexual assault was found. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was also formed to look into the case.

However, Satish Salian was not satisfied with the investigation. He raised questions about the circumstances of his daughter’s death, claiming that the case was not investigated properly. In his petition, he sought a fresh investigation and the registration of an FIR, alleging that attempts were made to suppress the case to protect influential individuals.
