New Delhi: Ahmedabad and Noida were shaken on Friday after bomb threats were received at prominent schools in both cities. Threatening emails were sent to these educational institutions, prompting immediate action from police and administrative authorities.
In Ahmedabad, St. Xavier’s School and Sant Kabir School received bomb threat emails. Following these warnings, the Ahmedabad Police and bomb disposal squads arrived at the locations and launched thorough searches of the school premises. Although no suspicious objects have been found so far, all necessary security measures have been implemented as a precaution.
Similarly, Noida’s Shiv Nadar School was also targeted with a bomb threat via email. Police reached the site promptly and began investigations. Officials stated that the initial assessment suggests the email may be a hoax, but a comprehensive inquiry is ongoing. It is noteworthy that several Noida schools have faced similar email threats in the past.
In response to the threats, the school administrations decided to keep the campuses closed for the day as a safety precaution. Principals sent messages to parents explaining that the schools would remain shut due to security checks, school buses have been sent back, and parents were requested to pick up their children from designated drop-off points.
The repeated threats have caused concern among parents. Police and cyber cell teams are actively tracing the emails, investigating IP addresses, and identifying the senders. Meanwhile, security around school premises has been tightened and police remain on high alert to ensure safety.
