Bomb Threat Halts Proceedings at Patna Civil Court, Lawyers Demand Probe

Patna witnessed a sudden scare on Thursday after a bomb threat was received at the Patna Civil Court. Following the alarming email, security agencies immediately heightened vigilance and evacuated the court premises as a precautionary measure. Consequently, court proceedings were temporarily suspended.

In view of security concerns, lawyers, court staff, and visitors present inside the court were asked to leave the building promptly.

According to sources, the threat came through an email explicitly warning about bombing the court, prompting swift action from the administration and police. Security arrangements across the entire complex were intensified, and a thorough investigation was launched.

Anshuman, an advocate at the civil court, expressed his displeasure over the incident during a conversation with the news agency. He stressed the need for a serious inquiry to identify those responsible for such malicious acts. He highlighted that during the cold season, thousands of people travel from distant areas to get their cases heard at the court. Incidents like these not only cause mental distress but also result in financial losses for the affected individuals.

He further added that the emailed bomb threat has created an atmosphere of fear among lawyers and clients alike.

Another lawyer, Ayan Sohel, shared that upon reaching the court, he was informed about the threatening email sent by an unidentified criminal. He mentioned that due to security protocols, everyone was evacuated from the premises.

Ayan urged the police to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the matter. He emphasized that recurring bomb threats via emails are a serious issue that needs to be addressed promptly to uncover the reasons behind such messages and the individuals involved.

Currently, police and security agencies are actively investigating the case. The court complex is undergoing intensive searches, and efforts are underway to trace the sender of the threatening email.
