Bengaluru, March 3: C.T. Ravi, a BJP MLC, has sharply criticized the Congress party. He claimed that Congress formulated its foreign policy not for the nation’s benefit, but for its own political gain. In contrast, he stated that the BJP has developed its foreign policy to benefit the country. This fundamental difference sets the two parties apart.
In a conversation with reporters on Tuesday, Ravi emphasized, “I want to make it clear that we have never focused on political gain. Our priority is to benefit the nation through our foreign policy. We are committed to this direction and will continue to do so. Our thoughts are always centered on the country, not on political advantages.”
Additionally, Ravi responded to the death of Khamenei, noting that people across the country have been expressing their sorrow. He questioned, “Why are they doing this? What connection does Khamenei have with our country? Where were these people when our citizens were killed in Pahalgam? They did not feel the need to express their sorrow publicly then.” He further criticized those who stated they adhere to Sharia rather than the Constitution, asserting that such individuals cannot be considered true Indians.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has called for a discussion in Parliament regarding the Iran issue. In response, Ravi stated, “Absolutely, you can discuss it. We have no objection to discussions. However, we urge you not to shy away from them. The BJP has always worked for the politics of the nation. We have never misused issues related to the nation; that has been the Congress’s approach. The BJP has always prioritized national interests and will not compromise on this.”
Ravi also commented on India-Israel relations, questioning Congress’s objections to Israel. He asked, “If India and Israel share a cordial relationship, what is Congress’s problem with that? It is evident that Congress tries to view international issues through a political lens, which is unacceptable. Israel has always been a friend of India and will continue to be. My straightforward question is, why does Congress oppose Israel?”
