Ayodhya, September 21 (Daily Kiran) : Former MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh visited Hanumangarhi in Ayodhya, where he responded to Minister O.P. Rajbhar’s recent proposal to divide Uttar Pradesh into four parts. Singh labeled Rajbhar’s suggestion as election rhetoric, emphasizing that the minister lacks a true understanding of the state’s complexities.
During a media briefing, Singh remarked, “This is an electoral gimmick and a thoughtless statement. Uttar Pradesh is recognized nationwide, primarily because it sends 80 MPs to Parliament. This is the strength and unique characteristic of Uttar Pradesh.” He added that there is no proposal from the central government or Yogi Adityanath’s administration regarding this division, asserting that it is merely a tactic to gain cheap popularity.
O.P. Rajbhar, who is also the head of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, made headlines during a social harmony rally in Deoria, where he stated that if Purvanchal were to become a separate state, a member of the Rajbhar community would become chief minister. He also raised issues related to reservations and caste-based census.
With assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh expected in the coming months, likely between February and March, political parties are ramping up their outreach, conducting rallies to connect with voters.
