BJP Leader Criticizes Congress Over Concerns About Proposed Delimitation
Shah Nawaz Hussain questions Congresss concerns over delimitation, alleging disruptions during Hindu festivals due to protests.

New Delhi, October 17 (Daily Kiran) : BJP leader Syed Shah Nawaz Hussain has criticized Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for expressing concerns over the proposed delimitation process. In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kharge called for an all-party meeting to discuss the issue. Hussain questioned why Kharge is raising alarms when the government has yet to make any announcements regarding delimitation.
Hussain also accused Congress and Rahul Gandhi of disrupting Hindu festivals during the current festive season. He emphasized that with significant religious events like Navratri, Durga Puja, and Ram Leela taking place, Congress’s protests are an attempt to interfere with these celebrations.
In response to Kharge’s letter, Hussain remarked that while no official statement has been issued by the government on delimitation, Congress appears to be preemptively voicing concerns. He suggested that the party is more focused on protests rather than addressing the potential benefits of the delimitation process for women’s rights.
Hussain pointed out that the festive period is crucial for social gatherings and shopping, and protests could inconvenience the public. He claimed that Congress is deliberately choosing to protest during these important occasions, which he sees as an attempt to disrupt Hindu festivities.
When asked about the potential economic impact of protests on businesses during the festival season, Hussain noted that this time of year typically sees a surge in shopping, benefiting traders. He added that protests necessitate increased police presence, which could further complicate the situation for ordinary citizens.
Hussain questioned whether the opposition would consider staging protests during other significant festivals like Eid or Bakrid. He highlighted that the timing of protests during Navratri, when many religious activities occur, could negatively affect both religious observances and local commerce.
