Imphal, March 10 : Amidst a possibility that the BJP could finish short of an absolute majority in the Assembly poll, its Manipur t President A Sharda Devi on Thursday indicated that the saffron outfit was open to tie-ups with parties willing to lend support, but said the final decision would be taken by the parliamentary board in consultation with the state leadership. “Let the complete results come out. We will then take a decision and do whatever needs to be done,” said Sharda. However, the veteran leader said she was still hopeful of the party fulfilling its target of giving a stable government to Manipur. The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has already said that it was willing to back the BJP form a government, but would take the final call based on the number of “cabinet berths and assignments in the cabinet” it was offered. The BJP, which led a coalition Government for five years, decided to go it alone in the Assemblypolls and put up candidates in all the 60 seats, with its leaders appealing to the people to give the party an absolute majority. Sharda said the BJP has never ignored parties that extended support to it “But being a national party, our high command will take the decision in consultation with us. Once all the results come in, the matter would bediscussedin our parliamentary board will sit with the state leadership and decide,” she said. Asked whether the BJP would again join hands with the National People’s Party, she repeated the same answer. SSP BM
