Chandigarh, August 14: The President of the Punjab BJP, Kailash Singh Dhillon, raised alarms on Friday regarding the escalating criminal activities in the state. He claimed that the law and order situation is deteriorating rapidly, leaving ordinary citizens, traders, and businesses feeling unsafe.
In a press statement, Dhillon highlighted that incidents of shootings, daylight murders, robberies, and extortion calls are occurring almost daily across the state.
He stated that gangsters and criminals have become so emboldened that the fear of the law has completely vanished.
According to Dhillon, not a single day passes without a significant crime occurring in some part of Punjab.
This growing atmosphere of fear is not only affecting the common people but is also severely damaging the state’s economy and investment prospects.
Referring to a recent shooting incident outside the residence of former Akal Takht Jathedar Raghuvir Singh, Dhillon questioned the effectiveness of the state government’s security measures.
He asked, “If prominent religious figures are not safe in their homes, how can the average Punjabi feel secure?”
Criticizing the state government, the BJP leader accused the Aam Aadmi Party, led by Bhagwant Mann, of neglecting internal security while being preoccupied with the pleasures of their political leadership in Delhi.
Dhillon emphasized that Punjab does not need hollow advertisements and verbal assurances; it requires strict, decisive, and effective governance regarding law and order. He asserted that only a BJP-led government can take stringent measures to curb crime in the state.
