New Delhi, July 29: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during discussions in the Lok Sabha regarding the recently passed Anti-Examination Paper Leak Law. The BJP accused Gandhi of misleading Parliament and the nation, making factually incorrect statements, and using unparliamentary language.
At a press conference held at the BJP headquarters, party MP and national spokesperson Sambit Patra welcomed the new and stringent law aimed at preventing examination paper leaks. He stated that the government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, has taken significant steps to make the examination system more transparent, secure, and accountable. He noted that the new law includes severe penalties for those involved in paper leak syndicates.
Patra targeted Rahul Gandhi, claiming that he repeatedly changed his arguments during the parliamentary discussion and failed to effectively raise any serious issues concerning students. He accused Gandhi of falsely asserting that security forces fired upon protesting students and that Home Minister Amit Shah ordered such actions.
The BJP spokesperson clarified that no such firing occurred. He explained that decisions related to crowd control are made by local magistrates based on the circumstances, not by the Home Minister.
Patra also objected to Gandhi’s use of terms like “idiot” and “blind followers” in his speech. He stated that such language is an insult to students and the general public, reflecting both a lack of decorum and disrespect towards the youth.
He further alleged that Gandhi’s unfounded accusations of security forces mistreating female protesters have harmed the morale and dignity of the security personnel.
Responding to Gandhi’s comments regarding Home Minister Amit Shah’s absence, Patra confirmed that Shah was present during the discussion. He dismissed Gandhi’s claims that his microphone was turned off or that the allegations concerning the Home Minister’s security convoy were accurate.
Patra accused the Congress party of attempting to create unrest for political gain, asserting that the party prioritizes the interests of the Gandhi family over those of students and youth.
He emphasized that while the BJP believes in good governance, legal reforms, and fact-based politics, the Congress is engaged in spreading misinformation and political theatrics. Patra demanded that Rahul Gandhi apologize to the nation for his alleged “false and misleading” statements made in Parliament.
