Patna, April 7: Frustration is mounting among candidates for the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) Teacher Eligibility Test (TRE-4) due to ongoing delays. The candidates are increasingly dissatisfied with the prolonged wait.
In response, student leader Dilip Kumar announced a hunger strike starting April 10 to demand action. A large gathering of candidates assembled at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, vocally protesting against the government. They are urging for the swift conduct of the TRE-4 exam.
Kumar warned that if the commission does not release the advertisement within the next three days, the hunger strike will commence as planned. He emphasized that millions of TRE-4 candidates have been waiting for vacancies for the past two years.
He accused the authorities of misleading candidates regarding the TRE-4 exam. The exam was originally scheduled for August 24, 2024, as per the BPSC calendar, but has been postponed repeatedly for various reasons. This ongoing delay is causing many candidates to exceed the age limit while waiting for the advertisement.
Kumar further stated that Education Minister Sunil Kumar had previously announced the exam, results, and appointment dates before the Bihar Assembly elections. However, the recruitment process has been stalled. He has requested permission from the government to hold the hunger strike near the Gandhi statue in Patna. If permission is denied, they will protest at Gardanibagh instead.
Kumar has called upon teacher candidates from across Bihar to converge in Patna on April 10.
