
Patna, March 29: The Bihar School Examination Board has announced the results for the Matriculation (10th grade) exams on Sunday. Bihar becomes the first state to declare Matric and Intermediate exam results in March.
The results show that girls have once again outperformed boys, similar to the Intermediate exam results. Two girls jointly secured the top position in the 10th grade, with Pushpanjali Kumari from Simultala Residential School in Jamui and Sabreen Parveen from Chhaurahi High School in Vaishali both scoring 492 out of 500.
In total, four out of the five top scorers are girls. Naheed Sultana from Begusarai claimed the second position with 489 marks, achieving a percentage of 97.8. The third position was shared by Anupa Kumari from UCC Secondary School in Buxar and Om Kumar from Begusarai, both scoring 488 marks with 97.6%.
The fourth position was also shared among three students: Jyoti Kumari from JP High School in Samastipur, Anubhav Kumar from Banka, and Ansh Raj from Purnia, each scoring 487 marks.
Additionally, five students, including Prerna Kumari from Begusarai and Nasreen Parveen from Bhojpur, secured the fifth position with 486 marks. A total of 13 students made it to the top five this year, while the complete top ten list includes 139 students. Notably, the number of girls passing the exam has increased this year.
Earlier, on Monday, the Bihar School Examination Board had released the results for the 12th grade, where 85.19% of candidates passed. Among the 26 toppers across all streams, 19 were girls.
