Patna, August 25: In response to student protests in Bihar’s capital, Patna, Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari announced that the government has addressed nearly all of the students’ demands. He emphasized that the government’s policy is to resolve youth issues in a timely manner.
During a media interaction, Tiwari stated that it is incorrect to claim that the government conceded to the students’ demands due to their protests. He clarified that the government’s intention has always been to address the problems faced by the youth. He encouraged students to engage in dialogue with the government to resolve any ongoing issues.
Targeting Tejashwi Yadav, Tiwari expressed surprise that someone who has never taken a board exam would offer suggestions on the examination system. He sarcastically suggested that Yadav should first enroll in a government school in Bihar, pass the tenth-grade exam, and then provide recommendations on the examination process.
Tiwari accused Yadav of attempting to politicize the student movement. He stated that the people of Bihar, including the students, can discern when someone tries to gain political mileage through a sponsored event. He claimed this is why the movement did not garner widespread student support.
The Education Minister also criticized Rahul Gandhi, asserting that the youth of the country look up to Swami Vivekananda as their ideal and are conscious about their future. He alleged that there were attempts to mislead young people into protests at Jantar Mantar.
Tiwari reiterated that the youth are the future of India and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is consistently working towards building a bright future for them through dialogue. He declared that the time for Rahul Gandhi’s engagement has passed, and no matter how hard he tries, the youth will not stand with him. He reaffirmed that the Bihar government is fully prepared to listen to and resolve students’ issues, keeping the channels of communication open.
