Patna, March 9: Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has issued a stern warning to officials and employees of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department. He stated that if they do not end their strike soon, they will face suspension. Alternative arrangements will be made for departmental work in their absence.
In a conversation with reporters on Monday, Sinha urged the Circle Officers not to be swayed by a few individuals. He emphasized the need for them to return to work promptly. The Deputy CM made it clear that the government’s sympathy should not be misconstrued as weakness. Strict action will be taken against those who disrupt public services.
Sinha highlighted the achievements of the new NDA government over the past 100 days. He mentioned that the measurement of undisputed and disputed land is set to be completed in seven and eleven days, respectively. Additionally, there is a 14-day timeline for uploading measurement reports onto the portal.
He stated that cases related to land without objections should be resolved within 14 days. Minor corrections in land records are to be addressed within 35 days, while special complex cases will take 75 days, and improvements in modifications will require 15 days.
The Deputy CM noted that last August, a target was set to process around 4.6 million applications by March 31, with 4 million of those being related to modifications. This process is being carried out systematically, following strikes by Circle Officers and now by employees.
He asserted that once the strike ends, applications must be processed immediately. Sinha announced that every Saturday, police officers will be present during discussions at the Circle Office, monitored by district DM and SP.
Furthermore, he indicated that revenue officials will address public grievances at the Panchayat level instead of at the Circle level. A timeline has also been established for resolving cases in the revenue court.
