Bihar: Counting begins in Bochaha assembly seat

Patna, April 16 : Counting of votes in Bochaha assembly seat began at 8 am amid tight security arrangements where polling for by-election was held on April 12. According to office of Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Bihar, the counting was in progress at Ram Dayalu Singh College. Counting would be held in 25 rounds on 14 tables arranged for the purpose. First of all, counting of postal ballots would be taken up. Thereafter, votes cast in EVMs would be counted. Result is expected by 2 PM. Polling for by-election in Bochaha assembly seat was held on April 12 when 59.20 percent electorate had exercised their franchise. A total of 13 candidates including 3 women are in fray. RJD has fielded Amar Paswan while BJP has fielded Baby Kumari as its candidates.Geeta Kumari from VIP is also in fray. As it is, by-election for Bochaha seat was necessitated following death of sitting MLA of VIP from Bochaha Musafir Paswan. KKS GNK
