Bihar Chief Minister Warns Private Schools on Fee Transparency

Patna, May 12: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has initiated a crackdown on the arbitrary practices of private schools. He issued several directives aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability in the state’s private educational institutions.

CM Chaudhary made it clear that the administration will take strict action against any school that increases fees arbitrarily or collects unnecessary charges. This government initiative is expected to provide significant relief to millions of parents who have been burdened by hefty fees in private schools.

Sharing the news on the social media platform ‘X’, he stated, “This initiative ensures transparency and accountability in private schools. A crucial step has been taken to curb arbitrary practices, regulate fees, and protect the interests of students and parents. Private schools are now required to publicly disclose all fee details, and arbitrary increases and unnecessary charges will be prohibited.”

He further mentioned that students will have the freedom to purchase books and uniforms from any source, and no student will be denied examination results due to outstanding fees.

The Chief Minister issued a stern warning that violations of this order will lead to severe penalties. He expressed confidence that this move will make the education system in the state more transparent, fair, and accessible.

It is noteworthy that several private schools in Patna and other districts have been pressuring parents to purchase expensive textbooks and uniforms exclusively from select stores or vendors. Complaints regarding these practices have been consistently reaching the government. Allegations of arbitrary fee hikes by private schools have also been a longstanding issue.
