Belagavi contractor commits suicide, blames Eshwarappa

Udupi, April 12 : A Belagavi contractor Santosh Patil, who had accused RDPR Minister KS Eshwarappa of corruption recently, allegedly committed suicide at a lodge here on Tuesday. The police found a death note of Patil blaming Eshwarappa for his death. He wrote that he had decided to “set aside his dreams and end his life.” Patil, who was also a BJP worker, had appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Bommai and former chief minister BS Yediyurappa to help his wife and children. The deceased had earlier alleged that the RDPR Minister demanded 40 per cent commission in public works sanctioned to him. The police tracked Patil’s call records and found him in the lodge, after he went missing on Monday. Patil had earlier alleged that Eshwarappa demanded 40 per cent commission in public works sanctioned to him. He had not only dismissed his allegations, but also filed a defamation suit against him. The Udupi police have registered a case of unnatural death and investigation is on in this case. BDN SHK1940
