Baloch Group Claims Responsibility for Attacks on Pakistani Forces in Balochistan

Quetta, April 24: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) and Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) have claimed responsibility for multiple attacks on security forces and installations in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. Local media reports indicate that these assaults occurred in the areas of Awaran, Zhao, Basima, and Sibi.

BLF spokesperson Major Gwaharham Baloch stated that on April 22, an attack was launched on a military convoy in the Kolwah area of Awaran. He claimed that fighters surrounded the convoy in the Geshkour region and executed a “heavy attack” using rocket launchers, light machine guns, and sniper rifles, resulting in the deaths of six security personnel and several injuries, along with significant damage to military vehicles.

Additionally, he reported that on the same day, a hand grenade attack targeted a Frontier Corps checkpoint outside the Basima police station, causing casualties and substantial damage.

The BLF also claimed responsibility for an attack on a military post in the Gajro Singeen area of Zhao on April 19, which resulted in multiple security personnel being killed and injured.

In a separate statement, BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch mentioned that weapons, vehicles, and other equipment were seized after taking control of a police post in the Lamji area of Sibi. He noted that the captured personnel were warned and subsequently released.

He further claimed that vehicles were searched during a blockade on the Quetta-Karachi highway. When Pakistani forces arrived at the scene, a prolonged exchange of fire ensued, resulting in casualties on both sides.

Last week, the BLF also took responsibility for an attack on a military camp in Zhao and for blocking a major highway in the Kharan area.

According to the BLF, a sniper attack was initially carried out on a military camp in the Kohadu area on April 12, followed by a coordinated assault using rocket launchers and automatic weapons, causing significant damage to the camp and resulting in casualties among security personnel.

On April 14, the group claimed to have blocked the Nauroozabad Road in the Sarawan area of Kharan for several hours while searching vehicles.

The BLF has warned transporters that anyone providing logistical or other support to Pakistani forces will be directly targeted.
