Ayodhya Transforms into a Spiritual Hub on Second Monday of Sawan

Ayodhya, August 10: On the second Monday of the sacred month of Sawan, Ayodhya has once again become a hub of spirituality. From early morning, a large number of devotees flocked to the city’s Shiva temples. After taking a holy dip in the Sarayu River, they gathered at the Baba Nageshwar Nath Temple to offer water and seek blessings from Lord Shiva.

During a conversation, Sant Kalki Ram stated, “Today marks the second Monday of the holy month of Sawan. This is our Shri Nageshwar Nath Temple. The temple doors opened at 4 AM during Brahma Muhurat. Since then, millions of devotees have been maintaining discipline while chanting ‘Bam Bam Mahadev’ and ‘Har Har Mahadev’ as they offer water to Lord Shiva. It is said that anyone who offers water here at the Shri Nageshwar Nath Temple receives the full blessings of visiting this holy city.”

A devotee from Sant Kabir Nagar shared, “We have come to offer holy water to Lord Shankar at the Nageshwar Nath Temple. Today is the second Monday of Sawan. We feel very good here, and the arrangements made by the government and administration are excellent.”

Due to the Sawan Monday, the ghats of the Sarayu River were also crowded with devotees and Kanwariyas. The pilgrims took a holy bath in the river and poured the water they brought onto the Shivling. Barricades were set up at the ghats due to rising water levels.

In light of the crowd, the administration implemented extensive security measures. Water police, SDRF, and NDRF personnel were deployed at the Sarayu ghats. Continuous monitoring was conducted through CCTV cameras in the temple complex and on major roads in the city.

SP City Chakrapani Tripathi stated, “Due to the second Monday of the Sawan month, extensive arrangements have been made by the police. Heavy vehicles have been rerouted to facilitate the movement of devotees. The city has been divided into sectors and zones, with police forces deployed to prevent any disorder.”

A significant number of Kanwariyas were also seen on Ram Path in Ayodhya. Dressed in saffron, wearing rudraksha beads, and carrying Kanwars, the devotees chanted “Bam Bam Bhole” as they made their way to the temples. The administration has created separate routes and resting places for the Kanwariyas.

In addition to the Nageshwar Nath Temple, long queues were seen at other Shiva temples in the city since morning. Police and temple committee volunteers assisted in maintaining order.
