Ayodhya, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : In a significant move, the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation has announced a complete ban on the sale of meat, fish, and alcohol on September 15, coinciding with the Paryushan festival. Mayor Girish Pathi Tripathi stated that this decision is rooted in the religious and spiritual essence of the festival. He emphasized that violations of this ban will result in legal action and potential fines.
Mayor Tripathi described Paryushan as a unique spiritual occasion where individuals seek forgiveness for any wrongdoings throughout the year. During this time, people often greet each other with “Micchami Dukkadam,” a phrase expressing the desire for forgiveness. In light of this spirit, the sale of meat will be prohibited in Ayodhya on the specified date. The municipal corporation will take necessary measures to ensure compliance with these regulations.
The mayor highlighted that Paryushan promotes messages of mutual forgiveness, self-reflection, and harmony. Therefore, the corporation aims to create an atmosphere that aligns with the religious sentiments of the festival.
According to the municipal announcement, the ban on the sale of meat, fish, and alcohol will be strictly enforced on September 15. Violators, including shopkeepers and establishments, will face penalties as per the regulations. The goal is not just to impose restrictions but also to ensure a peaceful and organized environment during this religious observance.
Additionally, Mayor Tripathi mentioned the ongoing development of Dashrath Path, which he described as an important and attractive project for Ayodhya. This path will connect the city to the memorial of King Dashrath. Various modern amenities have already been developed along the route, contributing to a religious atmosphere for visitors.
He noted that Dashrath Path will feature numerous religious symbols and motifs. The intention is to transform the pathway into more than just a means of transportation, but a space that fosters a rich cultural and religious experience. Structures such as religious pillars are being constructed to enhance the spiritual journey of pilgrims and tourists visiting Ayodhya.
Mayor Tripathi expressed gratitude to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the support in advancing the religious and modern development initiatives in the city, which are helping to redefine Ayodhya’s identity.
