Auto-Rickshaw Driver Murdered Over Change Dispute in Hyderabad

A 42-year-old auto-rickshaw driver was killed in Hyderabad following a dispute over change, raising concerns over local safety.

Hyderabad, September 21 (Daily Kiran) : In a shocking incident in Hyderabad, an auto-rickshaw driver was brutally murdered over a dispute involving a mere ₹10. The violence erupted in the Vattapalli area of Rajendranagar on Sunday evening, prompting immediate police response and the arrival of local AIMIM leaders.

Authorities reported that the altercation began when the driver, identified as 42-year-old Mohammad Mukarram, was allegedly assaulted by several individuals after a disagreement about change. The driver was severely beaten and later admitted to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Local police launched an investigation following the incident, with the area’s MLA, Mohammad Mubeen, visiting the hospital to meet with Mukarram’s family. Mubeen stated that the conflict started when the assailants attempted to pay a ₹200 note but failed to provide the required ₹10 in change, escalating into a violent confrontation.

Witnesses indicated that the attack was particularly brutal, occurring in front of Mukarram’s daughter. The MLA named the suspects as Azeem, Shoaib, and their associates, asserting that they are known troublemakers in the region.

Mubeen emphasized that this incident marks the second murder on the same street within a month, calling for increased police patrols and stringent action against the perpetrators. He urged the Telangana government and law enforcement to take effective measures to curb the rising incidents of violence and ensure the safety of residents in Hyderabad.
