Congress Launches Justice Journey in Uttarakhand to Address Public Concerns
Congress begins a Justice Journey in Uttarakhand, addressing corruption and public grievances from key religious sites.

Khatima, October 22 (Daily Kiran) : Congress is set to kick off its ‘Justice Journey’ in Uttarakhand starting Thursday, with the initiative launching from prominent religious sites in Kumaon and Garhwal. Bhuwan Kapdi, the Khatima MLA and the deputy leader of the opposition in the assembly, will participate in this significant journey.
The journey will commence from the renowned Goljyu Dham in Almora, a site revered as the deity of justice. Several senior Congress leaders, including former Chief Minister Harish Rawat, former Assembly Speaker Yashpal Arya, and state president Karan Mahra, will join the event. The journey will traverse through various areas including Ranikhet, Bhimtal, Haldwani, and Udham Singh Nagar, aiming to engage directly with the public.
Bhuwan Kapdi shared insights about the initiative, explaining that Congress is organizing four separate justice journeys from four major religious sites in the state. While the journey in Garhwal begins at Badrinath Dham, the Kumaon segment starts at Goljyu Dham. He emphasized the importance of these divine locations, stating that when individuals feel they have nowhere else to turn for justice, they seek help from the gods.
Kapdi criticized the state government for rampant corruption and injustice, stating that the party felt compelled to appeal to the deities for justice. He raised several allegations, including issues related to donations at temples, irregularities at the Ayodhya Ram Temple, and theft accusations at Kedarnath Dham. He also highlighted the tragic case of Ankita Bhandari, asserting that many daughters have faced injustice, and Congress will seek justice for her at the temple of Goljyu Devta.
Moreover, Kapdi accused the state government of jeopardizing the future of youth through recruitment scams and highlighted the detrimental effects of drug abuse permeating rural areas. He criticized the deteriorating state of healthcare and education, noting that while farmers are ready to harvest their rice crops, the government remains indifferent to their plight.
Through the Justice Journey, Congress aims to raise these pressing public issues and hold the government accountable. Kapdi announced plans for the next phase of the initiative, including press conferences across all district headquarters on October 25. A protest at the assembly is scheduled for October 27, followed by a large public gathering at Ram Leela Maidan in Delhi on November 1, where participants from across Uttarakhand and the country are expected to converge.
