Atishi Supports Kejriwals Call for Satyagraha Amid Justice Denial

New Delhi, April 27: Former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has expressed her support for Arvind Kejriwal’s letter to Justice Swarnkant Sharma. She shared a video on the social media platform X, where Kejriwal discusses his correspondence with Justice Sharma.

Atishi stated, “When an ordinary person feels that they will not receive justice, what options remain? They choose the path of truth and non-violence, as taught by Gandhi. This is not just about Arvind Kejriwal; it reflects the sentiments of every citizen whose hope for justice is fading.”

Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, informed Justice Swarnkant Sharma that he would not appear before her, either personally or through a legal representative, regarding the Delhi excise policy case. He expressed a lack of hope for justice from the judge and stated that he would follow Mahatma Gandhi’s path of Satyagraha.

In his statement, Kejriwal mentioned that he made this decision after listening to his “inner voice.” He also reserved the right to challenge any orders in the Supreme Court.

The letter reads, “My hope for justice from Justice Swarnkant Sharma has been shattered. Therefore, I have decided to follow Gandhi’s Satyagraha. I have made this decision after listening to my inner voice. I reserve the right to appeal against Justice Swarnkant’s decision in the Supreme Court.”

This recent development comes just days after Justice Swarnkant Sharma rejected Kejriwal’s plea to recuse herself from hearing cases related to the excise policy.
