Assam Chief Minister Claims BJP Rally Sends Strong Message to Congress

Guwahati, October 13 (Daily Kiran) : Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the massive turnout at a recent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rally sends a clear message to Congress. He emphasized that the public will not tolerate any attempts to undermine democracy and constitutional institutions.

Sharing images from the rally on social media, Sarma highlighted the significant participation, expressing support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted that the crowd reflects public backing for the BJP and the party’s stance in the current political discourse surrounding the electoral process. This discourse arises amidst Congress’s criticisms of democratic institutions.

“The large presence of people at the rally sends a clear message to Congress that the public will never accept any efforts to weaken our democracy, intimidate our constitutional institutions, or compromise the sanctity of the electoral process,” Sarma stated.

He further remarked that the people’s mandate is sacred and accused Congress of challenging its legitimacy. “The people’s mandate is sacred. Congress has neither the right nor the authority to crush it,” he added.

The BJP is ramping up its campaign in Assam amid a significant political clash with Congress over the electoral process and the functioning of constitutional institutions. This rally occurs ahead of the 2026 Assam Assembly elections, amidst escalating political accusations between the two parties. Both are striving to strengthen their support bases in the state, with the BJP highlighting its governance record while Congress works to rally opposition support against the ruling party.

As a key campaigner for the BJP in the Northeast, Chief Minister Sarma has consistently targeted Congress’s allegations regarding constitutional institutions. The BJP asserts that its campaign reflects public trust in its leadership and governance, while Congress continues to raise concerns about electoral processes and the functioning of democratic institutions.
