Rahul Gandhi Demands Resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Ahead of March to Supreme Court

Rahul Gandhi criticizes Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, calling for his resignation and urging citizens to join the upcoming march.

New Delhi, October 12 (Daily Kiran) : Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a fierce attack on Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar during a press conference in New Delhi on October 12. He demanded Kumar’s resignation, alleging that the constitution is under threat and that questions surrounding the electoral process remain unanswered.

Gandhi stated that this protest against Kumar is not a one-time event but will continue in the future. He urged all political parties, citizens, journalists, and social activists to join the “Chalo Delhi March” to protect the constitution.

When asked about his demands, Gandhi referenced a conversation with his sister, Priyanka Gandhi, saying, “This is Shiva’s dance, the Tandava of Shiva, and there is no plan.” He explained that their initial plan was to travel by bus, face resistance, and achieve success. “Shiva’s dance is ongoing, and anyone can join,” he added.

He called on leaders from all political parties to participate in the march, emphasizing that anyone who wishes to defend the constitution is welcome, regardless of their political affiliations. The march is set to proceed from Barakhamba Road to the Supreme Court.

Gandhi claimed that approximately 200 officials from the central government are in contact with him, providing information. This includes officials from the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and the Ministry of External Affairs.

Furthermore, he alleged that there is an ongoing attack on the constitution and raised concerns about police operations. He mentioned that even police officers are questioning why Gyanesh Kumar is being granted protection.

Gandhi reiterated that this movement is not merely a one-day protest; it will continue. He stressed that safeguarding the constitution is the responsibility of all citizens, urging a united front above political differences.
