New Delhi, February 25: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a three-day visit to Bihar. On the first day, he chaired a review meeting of the Indian Land Port Authority (LPAI) in Kishanganj on Wednesday.
During this meeting, Shah was accompanied by Union Minister of State Nityanand Rai, Bihar’s Home Minister Samrat Chaudhary, the Union Home Secretary, and other senior officials.
Photos from the meeting were shared on the official social media account of the Home Ministry. It highlighted that Amit Shah presided over the review meeting of the Indian Land Port Authority (LPAI) with state officials.
Throughout his visit, Shah will assess border security, administrative preparations, and ongoing development projects in the Seemanchal region, which is located near the borders of Nepal and Bangladesh.
Bihar Minister Ashok Chaudhary commented on Shah’s visit, stating, “Amit Shah is here to review our borders with Nepal and Bangladesh, as there are reports of increased activity from Nepali drug traffickers. Our resources are meant for our Muslims, not for Muslims from other countries.”
JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar added, “Amit Shah is the Home Minister of the country. The development includes an agricultural college named after APJ Abdul Kalam in the Seemanchal region, the Purnia airport, and the development of Waqf properties and other border areas.”
LJP MLA Raju Tiwari welcomed the visit, saying, “The Home Minister regularly visits the Seemanchal region. This reflects the government’s commitment. His and the Prime Minister’s presence is a positive sign.”
On February 26, the Home Minister will visit Araria and participate in an event at the Leti border outpost. He will then review development works and security arrangements under the ‘Vibrant Villages Program.’ His visit will conclude on February 27 with additional meetings in Purnia before returning to New Delhi.
