Hyderabad, May 19: Union Home Minister Amit Shah honored senior officials of the Telangana Police on Monday in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh. This recognition was for their significant role in controlling Maoist activities and making Telangana a Naxal-free state.
Present at the event were Telangana’s DGP C.V. Anand, State Security Advisor B. Shivdhar Reddy, DGP Operations Anil Kumar, and Commissioner of Police for Malkajgiri B. Sumathi, along with the SIB team. During the ceremony, Amit Shah praised the courage, sacrifice, and coordinated efforts of the Telangana Police, which contributed to the state being declared ‘Naxal-free.’
Expressing his joy, Telangana’s DGP C.V. Anand posted on the social media platform X, stating, “This is a proud moment for the Telangana Police, as our efforts to combat left-wing extremism and ensure lasting peace have been recognized by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh.”
He added, “I had the honor of receiving this recognition on behalf of the Telangana Police. Alongside me were State Security Advisor B. Shivdhar Reddy, DGP Operations (Octopus and Greyhounds) Dr. Anil Kumar (IPS), Malkajgiri Commissioner, and former SIB IGP Sumathi (IPS), along with the dedicated SIB team.”
The DGP emphasized, “This honor belongs to every officer and personnel of the Telangana Police, especially the Greyhounds, Intelligence, Octopus, and field units, whose courage, sacrifice, and coordinated efforts played a crucial role in making Telangana a ‘Naxal-free’ state.”
