Mumbai, May 20: Maharashtra Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha visited a woman in Malvani, Malad, who alleged that illegal construction was taking place outside her home. She claimed that members of a specific community had blocked her door.
After the meeting, Lodha addressed the media, stating that two Muslim youths were threatening the Hindu woman. He assured that action would be taken against them. He also mentioned that animals were being slaughtered inside a building without permission, and police would act on this as well.
Lodha highlighted that the two Muslim youths had already been implicated in prior cases. He expressed concern over incidents where Hindus were being threatened and forced to leave. Members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad provided assistance at the scene, and BJP workers filed a police complaint. Lodha confirmed that he had met with the police commissioner regarding the matter.
However, he voiced dissatisfaction with the FIR filed. While an FIR was registered, he noted that the appropriate sections were not applied. He insisted that the culprits must be arrested and stated that they would visit the police station to ensure such incidents do not recur.
Lodha emphasized that everyone knows who has settled in the area and who has encroached on land. The government will take steps to reclaim these lands.
He further stated that Hindus are often harassed with false complaints. Senior officials have been informed about this issue, and he called for an end to pressure and intimidation. He warned that if no action is taken, they would return to the area.
The victim shared her ordeal, mentioning that a man named Shaukat was preventing her from opening her door. She stated that he had been blocking her for nearly a year, attempting to take possession of her property. The woman expressed her desire for no further obstacles in accessing her home.
