Lucknow, April 9: Pankaj Chaudhary, the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has responded sharply to comments made by Akhilesh Yadav, the national president of the Samajwadi Party, regarding the Election Commission. Chaudhary labeled Yadav’s statements as contrary to democratic norms, asserting that they undermine the dignity of constitutional institutions.
Chaudhary pointed out that while Yadav seems to recall the Constitution in recent days, his remarks reflect a lack of genuine respect for it, revealing instead a desperation to regain power. He accused the Samajwadi Party of questioning democratic institutions whenever they fail to garner public support, using such tactics to mask their political despair.
He remarked, “When they win elections, everything is fine; when they lose, they question the Election Commission.” This double standard, he noted, is well understood by the people of the state, who will not accept such opportunistic political behavior.
The BJP state president further indicated that the current language and conduct of the Samajwadi Party leadership suggest they are troubled by their diminishing political ground. Due to recent defeats among their allies and a sense of insecurity about their future, they are now willing to put the nation, democracy, and constitutional institutions on trial.
Chaudhary emphasized that while they invoke the Constitution, they simultaneously cast doubt on the Election Commission, security forces, and investigative agencies, showcasing the chaotic mindset of the Samajwadi Party. He criticized their political approach, which has historically prioritized family loyalty, appeasement, and self-interest over democratic values.
He concluded by stating that the foundation of the Samajwadi Party’s family-centric politics is now weakening in the state. The people of Uttar Pradesh are firmly aligned with development, good governance, and national interest, rejecting the politics of confusion and deceit. Chaudhary expressed confidence that the aware electorate is ready to completely eliminate the negative and anti-democratic politics of the Samajwadi Party in the upcoming elections.
